The Baalbek coffee table is presented as a large block of Marmo di Rima with the lost-wax casted bronze double-T beam on which it rests. The Marmo di Rima used is a reinterpretation of an extinct marble from Central Asia, used in particular in Iraqi and Syrian architectural works. This element features by a semi-curved shape with a stepped profile, a reference to the architectural ruins of the Roman temple of Jupiter at the archaeological site of Baalbek, Lebanon.
