The Palmyra Bench is the representation of the remains of the Temple of Baalshamin, Palmyra, the archeological site which was destroyed by ISIS in 2015. The architrave is replaced by a lost-wax casted bronze double-T beam which rests on three classical column bases made in Marmo di Rima, with inclusions in selenite, a semi-transparent crystalline gypsum used in antiquity as glass.
